30hands Learning will be retiring :-(

December 15, 2020

Today, it is with a heavy heart, we’re announcing that we will be closing 30hands Learning and retiring our popular products: 30hands Pro (for iOS), 30hands Cloud (LMS) and 30hands Web (for Chrome).

We started this labor of love in 2012 and worked with so many amazing educators and students. Many of you have used the 30hands suite of apps for many years and we are truly grateful for your business and support for new ways of learning.

We’re delighted that 30hands has helped millions of students use digital storytelling to think creatively and show what they know. We’re thrilled that 30hands has helped almost 100,000 teachers inspire their students to be creative and learn more deeply with video and digital technology in the classroom.

If you have any questions or need help during this time of transition, please email us at info@30hands.com. We are fully committed to ensuring a smooth transition. With this in mind, you will still be able to access and download all your 30hands created videos for the next several months if you published them to 30hands from 30hands Pro or if they’re on the 30hands Web site.

Important Dates

Starting December 15th, 2020 – New signups within 30hands Pro (iOS app) and at 30handsWeb.com will be disabled, however both apps will continue to function as expected for existing users.

January 15th, 2021 – On 30hands Pro, you will no longer be able to publish videos to the web. The 30hands site (http://30hands.30hands.net) will enter a read-only mode that will allow you to access and download your all your videos.

February 15th, 2021 – On 30handsWeb.com, you will no longer be able to create new videos, new classes, or communicate with parents and students. The 30hands Web site (https://30handsWeb.com) will enter a read-only mode that will allow you to access and download your all your videos.

February 28th, 2021 – All 30hands websites and apps will be fully retired. Last date to download 30hands Pro from the Apple Store.

Alternatives to 30hands

For managing your blended classroom activities there are many, many options. We’d suggest considering Google Classroom or Schoology. On the video creation side, again there are many options including Adobe Spark Video, Explain Everything, iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, and soon to be released Humble Media by 30hands co-founder Carmen Ferrara.

It has been a truly wonderful experience working with all the great educators over these past 8 years! While 30hands will be closing, Eric and Carmen will continue working on new and innovative products.

Feel free to reach out anytime and say hello.
