Olive’s Tip of the Week – Stop Motion

Nate Brown Blog

Olive-Quick-TipHey everyone! Olive here with another paw-some 30hands Quick Tip of the Week! This week’s tip is on stop motion! Stop motion can be great for creating an animation effect in 30hands videos. There are unlimited possibilities to create fun, moving features to put your purr-sonal touch on your own 30hands videos. Create the stop-motion video as a separate presentation and publish it to your camera roll, then add the video as a slide to your main 30hands presentation. Be sure to keep it under 30 seconds!

Here’s how to create a stop motion video to incorporate into your next 30hands video:

1. Draw on a slide or put an image you would like to move/change during the animation in your video.

2. Touch the slide to show the options menu and click to Copy Slide.

3. The copy of that slide will appear to the right of the current slide. Swipe right and edit the new one as an Enhanced Drawing. Move the image, change its color, or do whatever you would like to create animation! Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you have changed the image as much as you would like.

4. Touch the red clock icon in the bottom right to select the amount of time each slide will play for. For stop motion, you only want a small duration for each slide, so there are no paws-es in the action! Some time interval between 0.1 to 0.5 seconds usually does the trick!

There are so many fun things to do with stop motion! Here are a couple videos, at the bottom of the page, that I made with stop motion in 30hands! Don’t fur-get to tune in next week for Olive’s Quick Tip of the Week!
