Professional Development starts with a 1-hour or a 1-day workshop. Once you have started the process, ongoing support helps keep staff engaging in continuous learning and collaboration with peers. 30hands Learning’s professional development courses are geared toward spending enough time with the subject-matter to let the learning really soak in. But time alone is not enough, so we add 2 critical ingredients: hands-on learning + collaboration.
Teaching. We help educators learn how to work hands-on with technology in a cohort from a teaching perspective, so they can bring this back to students and colleagues. Examples of workshops include teaching Computer Programming concepts to students and teaching Entrepreneurship skills to students. Each track includes Design Thinking concepts and learning how to teach by doing and by collaborating.
Training. For business people and educators, we teach you how to get the most out of multimedia training and get you hands-on with creating video lessons quickly and easily.
Instructional Design. The way you present your material matters. We help business people and educators understand and practice visualizing your concepts. What are the right images and pictures to support what you are saying? Generally, it is not a talking head or an image of a person. To reinforce the concepts, we give you time to practice visualization in class and on your own.
We can help your school, district or company design programs for the future. This includes analysis of your current programs, processes and structures with an outcome of recommendations for ways to change to more hands-on, project-based and experiential learning. We will also help you develop a plan for online, remote or personalized learning and then get the process started. Depending on the scope, this could take a few days, a few weeks or a few months. We’re there to help you plan, model and create.
